Comments: The Freedom of Religion Foundation sent the City of Hobbs a complaint letter in 1994 requesting the removal of the 1970 Fraternal Order of Eagles’ Ten Commandments monument located at City Hall. (See Freethought Today, January/February 1995.) The JM Center is not aware of any litigation that may have resulted from the complaint. The Ten Commandment remains outside City Hall as of January 2018.

Original Location: Bernalillo County Courthouse, Albuquerque, N.M. A new courthouse was built in 2000 and the monument was removed from the old courthouse in 2001.
